Arya  E Commerce(India) is revolutionizing the way eCommerce business are built and scaled in the SE Asia region. Whether a 100 days old eCommerce business run from apartment or 150 years old Fashion Brand, we help them offload inventory at our distribution center, pick and pack their orders and deliver it to customer doorstep in most systematic and efficient way. Our mission is to be the biggest e- commerce fulfillment platform in the South East Asia.
We raised Series A funding in early May 2014 . The funds will be used for our expansion plans in Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia and India.

The ideal candidate for this position in Pune, India will have excellent insight of web technologies, web applications design and development and engineering teams management (core platform team, apps team and front end team) . The candidate will be responsible for OM METELS s product engineering team, architecture, designs, development and testing using best practices and the agile development methodologies Perfect candidate for this role would excel in a team- oriented environment, and at the same time have the ability to work independently, with minimal supervision. Prior experience in E- commerce, Logistics Supply Chain is a big plus.
Reporting to the CTO, the Technical Manager will liaise on a regular basis with operations, business teams and ARYASOFT Customers to keep track of the platform requirements, schedules and expectations.
Responsibilities Include-
Directly Manage Product / Web Application Engineering team at ARYASOFT s Pune, India Development Center. Hire additional Development, Team Lead and Testing positions to expand overall engineering capability. Front- end technology team with CTO for integration with external platforms, payment gateways and strategic projects.
Direct functional and line management (we are a flat organization with no matrix roles) of development, testing and systems team members i. e. hiring, setting KPIs, performance tracking, work allocation, work quality feedback, addressing inter- personal concerns / issues, leave planning and approvals, annual performance review based on individual team members’ KPI.
Work closely with CTO- (a) understand, analyze platform roadmap, release requirements / customer requirements (b) prepare and finalize overall release schedule and (c) plan development, testing allocation / capacity (d) preparing overall / annual Engineering budget – headcount, compensation, tools and tech investment (e) identifying team improvement opportunities, hiring strategic talent / skillsets.
Work closely with Project Management team to translate Product Roadmap release into a structured development plan with development and testing team allocation. You and Project Manager will spearhead daily stand- up meetings, status review, release risks identification and devise mitigation plans.
Own overall ARYASOFT platform engineering, design and release activities, and process from inception to delivery. You will make architectural and data model decisions, analyze application performance, plan existing modules revamp and build new capabilities as per product roadmap and business needs.
Own the deliverables from the development team for time, quality and performance indicators. Plan releases in phases and share detailed release notes on every release.
Contribute at individual level in coding and development of modules (Yes, you will be required to do hands- on coding as an individual contributor) , module level integrations, API integrations, supporting integration with customer systems, integration with third party apps / platforms.
Make yourself available to your team when they need; can be for technical guidance, providing them solutions, establishing best practices and methodologies, understanding their needs and issues, detailing them on the requirements, training them on specific technical needs, regular status checks, etc. Contribute to build strong technical team, innovation and get- the- things- done culture with as flat as possible team structure within the Engineering team.
Requirements Include:
Ability to work in fast paced, growth mode startup environment. Ready to roll sleeves, do- what- ever- needs- to- be- done attitude, work beyond 9 to 6 mindset, hands on approach to lead team by example while taking on core development task ownership.

Overall 5 to 6 years of hands- on development experience with Ruby and Ruby on Rails, my SQL, AWS, RDS, Nginx, Phusion Passenger, Git, SVN, JSON and Unix with overall 5- 10 years industry experience. Experience in Spree- commerce is an added advantage.
Minimum 2 years experience in leading and directly managing software development team of 5 or more team members while hands on product development involvement. Candidate must have experience in development tasks identification, team allocation and tracking, manage daily stand- up meeting and drive software release schedule, identify risks, plan mitigation and contingency.
Minimum 2 years hands on experience in web application requirements analysis, requirements management, Application design, data modeling, process driven development, code review, unit testing, documentation, engineering updates reporting and release is all must for this role.
Strong organization and team management skills, identifying development process and team improvement opportunities, deployment of new practices and ideas, result oriented experimenting with new tools and technologies to improve platform and overall productivity.
